Hello Lovely Ladies,
Yesterday I wrote my toughest exam of this semester and it feels sooo good to have it behind me (one more left to write tomorrow). I appreciate all of your well wishes and support. I am excited for a month off of school to build up my holiday spirit, kick back with a good book (or two… I intend on devouring a few novels), and to show you some really exciting shades/stamps that were sent my way for review.
Today I would like to show you how I wore Cult Nails Feedback:
Cult Nails Feedback is from their recent “All Access” collection. It is described as:
Feedback mixes soft gold, pink, and orange mylar flakes
to create a loud topper to amplify any of the crèmes in this collection
The irregular iridescent gold/pink flakies are soft but edgy at the same time. A really neat alternative to the metallic glitter.
(in fact, if you look really closely I added four hexagonal glitter bits to this manicure to add a prominent pop of gold to the transluscent flakies).
The flakies shift and play with the light and are truly magical… the application is a different story. Gosh it pains me to say this, because I am a cultie at heart, but I really struggled to apply this polish. It was definitely on the thicker side and even with a topcoat the nail surface was a little bumpy- not a sharp and jagged bumpy, just not 100% smooth either.
I adore the look of this polish, but I did have to put in a bit more effort during application. I wonder, literally as I type this, whether sponging these precious flakies on would have been a better approach.
I was most excited for this shade from this collection, and I have seen gorgeous swatches of Feedback. Perhaps the formula issues are simply because this bottle traveled a long way to me here in London, Canada? *sigh*
(base is Sally Hansen Pacific Blue- which has officially replaced my Nails Inc Baker Street)
